Privacy Policy

IT Admin Utils is a collection of browser-based tools. Your privacy is straightforward because we collect as little data as possible.

What we collect

All diagnostic tools run entirely in your browser. Pasted input is not sent to our servers. We use localStorage to save your theme preference (dark/light mode).

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which tools and guides people use. It records the pages you view, how you arrived, your rough location, and your device and browser. It never receives the text you paste into a tool, or your email address if you sign up for FailNote.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you click Allow on our cookie banner. If you click No thanks, your visits don't load Google Analytics at all. You can change your cookie choice at any time.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google handles this data under its privacy policy. You can block it with Google's opt-out browser add-on, your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker.

FailNote

FailNote is our failure-alert service at app.itadminutils.com. If you sign up, we store your email address, your alert settings, and any Slack, Discord, Teams or webhook URLs you add.

The FailNote agent on your server sends us its hostname, OS name, systemd version, a scrambled copy (hash) of its machine ID, and the names of failed units. When a unit fails, it also sends that unit's systemctl status output and its last 40 log lines, unless you set FAILNOTE_LOG_LINES=0. We use all of this only to send your alerts and show them in your dashboard.

Everything is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and alert emails go out through Cloudflare's email service. We delete each alert 30 days after it's resolved. Deleting your account in the dashboard deletes everything right away.

Paid plans are sold by Lemon Squeezy, which handles your payment details. We only learn your plan, its status and its renewal date. We never sell your data or share it for marketing, and we only email you about your account and your alerts.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and similar. We don't use ad cookies. We also use localStorage to remember your theme and your cookie choice.

Third parties

Our hosting provider may collect basic access logs, such as IP address and user agent, as part of operating and securing the hosting service. Diagnostic text pasted into a tool is processed locally and is not included in those requests.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
